My university dept. and the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs had a long-standing partnership that cultivated a student internships/mentorship program. As a faculty mentor, I often oversee and lead projects with students.
In 2023, the DCA had migrated many of the state museum websites to wordpress and were developing NMDCA Media Center Events API. In order to showcase events through out the state websites, they needed a wordpress plugin that used shortcodes to control output for each site.
I worked with a student intern to develop plugin that could be handed over and maintained by DCA web support staff.
